Nature Journaling
Activity System (NJAS)
Educator Resources
The Nature Journaling Activity System builds foundational skills for deep, true observation across every age.
Built to support early learners exploring with an adult, students in grades 1–12, and lifelong journalers, our system provides a synchronous bridge between nature and creative literacy. Each free Educator Guide delivers clear facilitator guidance to help leaders right-size educational goals and expectations, serving as amendments to our core NJAS activity guides indoors or out. Grounded in our educational framework of four Visible Thinking routines—Notice, Wonder, Remember, and Measure—every guide helps leaders build consistent critical thinking spaces. Choose the tailored framework for your group: Early Learners (TK–1), School Age (Grades 1–12), or Adult.
Inside our resource library, you will also find our NGSS Alignment Rubrics, California ELO-P Alignment Briefs for expanded learning programs, and downloadable master-copy worksheets for hands-on STEM exploration. Seamlessly integrate these turnkey resources into school gardens, classrooms, homes, museums, botanical gardens, and outdoor education programs.
