Children & adults will learn about timely planting activities to grow bountiful gardens in our urban farm teaching garden. Each activity is designed to follow the timely guidance given through the Farmer's Almanac and encourages the development of organic, biointensive, gardens year round.
We do not discriminate by space-pots, patios, beds, or square foot gardens- everyone is welcome!

Learn to make organic herbal remedies for effective first aid care of summer injuries like burns and scrapes. Workshop includes instruction on creating an effective first aid kit as well as making 3 home remedies for immediate use: St. John’s Wort Salve to aid in healing wounds, Aloe Vera Burn Relief, and Yarrow Shaker to stop bleeding.

Learn the art of designing your own artisan tea blends by tasting individual ingredients, discussing spice blends, healthful tea blends, and how to develop layers of flavor for a designer blend of one's own.
Seasonal tastings may include blends for hot tea infusions, iced tea infusions, healthful herbal blends, or

Our series will include STEAM oriented exploration for garden planning, composting, water conservation, and companion planting in a fall/winter garden

Preserving fresh foods is a time honored skills and a wonderful way to know exactly what is in the food you are eating. Our course will be both an introduction to the science of cooking and an exploration into yummy nutritious ways to preserve foods. We will learn about proper food preparation, healthy recipes, and substitutions. This course will meet once a month and include all supplies needed for completed take-home samples.
